Final Piece

For my final piece I created a series of eight images following the life of a boy growing up with a disco ball head. The message I tried to communicate was "accept what makes you different and find others who do too." I think I manged to properly communicate that message, because a group critique was done on my piece and the members of that group all understood the message without me having to explain it. They also said that they understood the story being told. Due to their responses, I believe that this final piece was very successful and managed to do what I originally intended to make.

I decided to use a marker like I did in my earlier development work, because the story is about this disco ball character, so I really wanted to emphasis him, and I found that it makes him particularly eye catching. Using the marker, also provided a level of consistency that tied all the pieces together and helped make it a series. For the outlines I used a black biro pen, which I did not get to test before doing this final piece and if I had enough time, I would have tested it beforehand.

Something I found when doing this is the very limited time, I had to do this. Due to me not fully understanding how little time I had I tried to do too much, for example I was originally meant to do a series of nine, but I dropped that idea when I realised timings. If I could I most likely would have changed the idea to a series of six, because I would have enough time to produce refined images that properly reflect my ability, however because I chose to do eight, I was very rushed and struggled greatly getting this series done in time.
