Recreate an item from your past

For this prompt I decided to choose a toy sword that my brother gave me when I was younger, and I still have. To recreate it I used paper, masking tape and brown tape. I think using a limited number of materials helped me focus to figure out how to make the sword. I rolled the paper into tubes, then stuck them together using masking tape and to neaten it I used brown masking tape, which I think was the right choice, as it helps distinguish the different parts of the sword.

Overall, I believe it was successful and the end result does look like a sword. If I were to remake it, I would try and shorten the handle, because it is too big and distracts from the 'blade'. I would also try and redo the top as I believe it is quite clunky, along with uneven. To fix it I would have used a ruler to have even cuts at the top.

After recreating my item, I used my ten mark-making tools to draw it. I think that this part was unsuccessful, for the reason that I threw down the ink with little purpose and did not use what I made as reference as much as I should have. I also did not think about which tools would work best for a specific part, instead I just tried using all the tools randomly, leading to a rushed piece. To fix it I should have planned what tools I should have used and tried to draw the actual object instead of how I imagined the object.
