Painting

During the last part of the day, I was told I had to use my collages as inspiration for a painting, meaning I could paint a copy of the collage, or I could use them as inspiration for a painting idea. I ultimately decided to try replicating a collage in the painting form. I chose to paint a section of my fourth collage, and I chose this one because it was quite visually appealing and had a variety of colour in it.

I found painting it was quite relaxing and fun. Although, I am not very pleased with the outcome of the painting, because I think it is too sectioned and lacks proper flow. I do actually like the way the left-hand side looks, because I find that the colours complement each other nicely, however I think the right-hand side brings down the overall piece, as at that time I tried to come up with a new pattern based off the original and I do not think it works well, particularly because the colour of the lines looks muddy, and I had little confidence in my strokes. To fix this, I would like to split the painting in half as both sides work well on their own but put together, they appear as clunky.
